About The Fringe

The Fringe is a Christ-centered community of working musicians committed to cultivating identity, calling, and excellence in craft. We exist to provide a trusted environment for spiritual formation, creative collaboration, and purposeful connection—equipping musicians to faithfully walk in their God-given identity and assignment.

Musicians carry a unique weight—navigating pressure, uncertainty, isolation, creative fatigue, and spiritual tension while continuing to serve others through their work. The Fringe exists to meet that reality through a community built on trust, shared experience, and purposeful connection.

We gather through monthly meetups, live recordings, songwriter camps, events, and more. Each expression is designed to foster honesty, spark collaboration, and create space for both creative and personal renewal.

The Fringe is intentionally open to people from diverse backgrounds. Some are rooted in the Church, others are not, and many are somewhere in between. What unites us is a shared respect for music, a desire for authentic connection, and the conviction that people are strengthened through meaningful relationships and shared pursuit.

We are building something long-term. The Fringe is not simply an event series or a content platform—it is a community designed to support musicians through every season, cultivate meaningful relationships, and create lasting impact.

Founder

The Fringe was founded by musician, singer-songwriter, and producer Chris Lockwood, driven by a deep commitment to serve the creative community. Having experienced both the beauty and the strain of life in the music industry and in ministry, he recognized a consistent need—musicians often carry significant pressure while pouring into others, yet lack spaces where they themselves are supported and strengthened.

Out of that reality, the vision for The Fringe took shape: to create a trusted, creative, and collaborative environment where musicians can be encouraged, sharpened, and reminded that their work, their calling, and their lives carry real weight and purpose.
